Storage of Product Standard pallet (40x48) or Undersized (36x40) storage available. Modern fully sprinklered, heated warehouse with electronic security system keeps all-risk insurance to a minimum. Product Selection Product can be picked out of original cartons and into appropriately-sized cartons when less than the full number of units in the carton is required. Products on the packing list can consist of full cartons plus some loose units. An efficient picking line is established to deal with the most complex ordering quantity. Product will be housed in bins, flow racks, or on pallets, depending on the turnover ratio. Prepacks (often called Sets or Kits) can be assembled beforehand or “on the fly” as the product is being picked. Packing When the picking process involves less than full cartons, the product will be protected with chemically-expanding dunnage to guarantee no movement within the carton and protection of the product from the outer walls of the carton. Nine different carton sizes are available to hold the product. The “number of pounds test” of the carton will be determined by the weight of the product and its destination. For example, shipments traveling overseas are usually packed in a double wall carton. Automated carton sealing equipment is used to seal both the upper and lower portion of the carton. Additional promotional material can be included with every shipment. The contents of each carton can be identified on an outside label. Carton strength adheres to carrier requirements, such as, “drop tests”. Accuracy All cartons travel through an inline scale which checks the weight of the carton against a bar code that has been affixed to the side of the carton indicating the anticipated weight of the carton. Any carton that is “outside of tolerance” will be automatically routed to a section of the conveyer where a QA person will inspect the contents of the carton for accuracy. Approximately 10% of all cartons are checked at random to insure that the contents match the packing list and that all special customer picking and packing instructions have been adhered to. Special packing instructions, such as shrink wrapping each unit separately, can be accommodated. Traffic “Dont ship until” and “must ship before” customer shipping instructions are routinely handled by this department so the customer receives the product exactly when it is wanted. Special customer-specified carriers are honored. Manifests are automatically created where needed. Large discounts are realized when using certain preferred carriers. Routing Shipments can be sent via any of the major carriers including, but not limited to, UPS, USPS, FEDEX, common carrier, Canadian UPS, Canadian Parcel Post, overseas sack mail, DHL. Same day or next day shipping is available. Staffing to ship 7 days a week. Confirmation Automated shipping confirmation is sent back to your customer service department showing date shipped, weight, number of cartons and tracking number. Returns Returns department scrutinizes the condition of the product and whether it can be resold. A document with appropriate information will be created in order to generate a credit memo to the customer. If the product is not in saleable condition, a refurbishing process can take place to make the item saleable. Physical Reconciliation Full inventory counts or cycle inventory counts can be performed. They will meet with all internal and external audit specifications.
